Matt Lang Memorial IPA

If you attended our CIDG public event in September you will remember the story of Matt Lang and the memorial beer that was made to commemorate him and raise funds for much needed community AED’s.

Matt, who passed away suddenly in December 2013, is fondly remembered by his friends and colleagues at Tuatara Brewing with a boutique beer made in his honor. The funds from last year’s brew went towards purchasing AED’s which are to be provided to at-risk individuals in the community.

Tuatara

Last Thursday Tuatara launched Matt’s second memorial brew, the 2015 vintage, featuring the CIDG logo on the tap badge. Dr Jon Skinner and Matt’s family joined the Tuatara team in Wellington for the launch. All the proceeds from sales of Matt’s 2015 brew will go towards purchasing further AEDs, to help save lives in the community. This is important as people leaving hospital with an AED are given confidence, which is invaluable to families affected with life threatening cardiac conditions.

Dr Jon Skinner remarked, “It was a great pleasure to see the launch of this generous venture. While we struggle to save lives, we are always reminded to enjoy the life we have. The sale of this boutique beer helps us do both.”

From all of us at CIDG, we would like to thank the Lang Family and Matt’s colleagues and friends at Tuatara Brewing for their continued support and fundraising efforts.

We all hope you will join us in raising a glass to Matt.
