Public Event

We are pleased to invite you to attend CIDG’s first family Information evening, Cardiac Inherited Disease: Saving Young Lives in New Zealand, for families and individuals affected by Cardiac Inherited Disease. This is to be held in Auckland City at the Langham Hotel on the 18th September 2015.

The purpose of this event is to raise awareness and discuss cardiac inherited disease/sudden death in young people in NZ. An open forum such as this, offers families and patients affected by cardiac inherited disease/sudden unexplained death a unique opportunity to meet with other families who share similar stories.

The format of the meeting will begin with a series of talks about Cardiac inherited disease and treatments in NZ, followed by a open mic, question and answer panel, where you can share your experiences and ask questions of our panel of experts.

Why we want you to come along?

An event such as this gives you a chance to meet others who are also living with inherited cardiac disease, or who are also living with the loss of a loved one. This opportunity allows you to share stories, ask questions from  leading experts and gives you an insight into the value of research into leading clinical innovations and best practices. You and your family become a part of the bigger picture that is cardiac inherited disease and sudden death in the young within NZ, helping us tell health funders what we want and need, to help all those affected by inherited cardiac diseases.

We would love for your support at this event so that we can make it an annual patient event, with varying topics and subjects for discussion that you would like us to consider. This will also help to carry on raising awareness of Cardiac Inherited Diseases and sudden unexplained death in NZ.

This is a child friendly event, as we are a family-orientated group and believe in supporting the whole family.

If you can attend we would love to see you, all you need to do is email us with your interest at CIDGadmin@adhb.govt.nz
Or contact CIDG Coordinators Jackie, Mandy or Tom, details on contact us page

We are hoping to offer food and beverages, as well as free or discounted car parking, through the generous sponsorship we have gained from Cure Kids and Boston Scientific, details of which will be sent out closer to the date to those who have registered to attend.

If you cannot attend, please share this with any interested friends or family members who would like to attend.
